
one another in "circle time", a teacher-led series of group activities that includes developing memory through singing and dancing, activating coordinated movement with poetry, and improving concentration through finger plays and stories. Circle time is followed by sharing an organic snack together.
Recharged and inspired, children move at their own pace into the artistic activity of the day followed by uninterrupted imaginative play. The artistic activities follow a weekly rhythm, with different days of the week dedicated to such activities as bread-making, watercolor painting, beeswax modeling, sewing, woodworking, fingerknitting, silk washing, etc.
The morning session concludes with oral storytelling, a pleasant family-style lunch, outside play, and a closing circle with song that prepares children to either say good-bye and go home or, for those who stay into the afternoon, to settle down for quiet time and naps. After the rest time comes another wholesome snack followed by singing, stories, cooking, art, and imaginative play.


Daily rhythm helps maintain consistency and prevents an inordinate amount of stress – for parent or child! Following an “Inhale” quiet activity with an “Exhale” vigorous activity works with our natural rhythms. Look at any chart of typical blood sugar levels throughout the day and you can easily see why.
Every day begins outside in our Play Garden. Singing transitions us into the indoor spaces where the children welcome the day and
